What Advanced Techniques Will Dr. Vogel Speak About in Upcoming ASAPS Lectures?

Dr-VogelIn our part one of our blog series, Dr. James E. Vogel shared the announcement about his appointment as an ASAPS Traveling Professor. In the second installment of this two-part series, Dr. Vogel will provide the details of what he will be doing on the road.

As a traveling professor for ASAPS, my primary role will be as an educator. I will be delivering a wide variety of presentations and lectures during the course of my appointment, including:

  • Basic techniques in hair restoration surgery

  • Ways to correct unsatisfactory hair transplants with a “pluggy” appearance

  • Hairline lowering procedures

  • Options for choosing candidates for different types of breast augmentation surgery

  • Fat grafting techniques for buttock enhancement

  • General practice management concepts

  • CoolSculpting®

  • Nonsurgical options for body contouring, including fat freezing

The audiences I will be speaking to as an ASAPS traveling professor are state societies, regional meetings for continuing education, and trainees in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery. Residents who are in plastic surgery training programs will especially benefit from the ASAPS traveling professor lectureships. Though they are in the midst of their formal training, as an ASAPS traveling professor, I hope to provide these residents with an opportunity to hear cutting-edge information on aesthetic plastic surgery that they may not necessarily come across in the course of their everyday education. I am honored by being given the responsibility of this task and look forward to sharing the knowledge I have gained throughout my career.
