Find the Appropriate Wrinkle Treatment for Your Skin

Not all wrinkles are the same. Some wrinkles, such as forehead wrinkles and crows’ feet, are caused by muscles of expression. Other wrinkles, such as the “smile lines” that run from your nose to the corner of your mouth, are caused by sagging of facial skin. Still others, such as those above your lips, may be caused by smoking, sun exposure, or heredity.

Plastic surgeon Carrie Houssock, MD, FACS and her experienced staff can provide you with the appropriate skin care treatment for your type of wrinkles, delivered in a luxurious, comfortable setting. BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport are especially good for treating muscle-caused wrinkles, while dermal fillers, such as Radiesse®, Restylane®, and JUVÉDERM®, are usually used for sagging skin wrinkles. Surgical dermabrasion and fillers may both be used to treat lip wrinkles. We’ll discuss your individual requirements and the best approach for you in a complimentary, personalized skin care consultation. Many patients benefit from using both BOTOX® Cosmetic and a wrinkle filler, for a more youthful appearance from chin to forehead.

“The whole staff is awesome, I’ve never had a bad experience there.”

Eliminate frown Lines to Look Younger and Happier With BOTOX® Cosmetic

Do you look like you’re angry, frowning, or tired as a result of deepening forehead wrinkles or crows’ feet? If so, BOTOX® Cosmetic can help you achieve a more pleasant, youthful appearance.

About BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a safe, FDA-approved treatment designed to smooth wrinkles caused by muscles of expression. A few days after a single treatment, you’ll notice results that will last for three to six months. BOTOX® Cosmetic has been used for more than 10 years on millions of people, and its safety in long term treatment has been well established.

BOTOX® Cosmetic works by using a tiny amount of Botulinium Toxin Type A that is produced in carefully controlled laboratory conditions to block muscle contractions and the wrinkles they cause. Under the medical supervision of Dr. Houssock, our trained and experienced registered nurses will gently inject a dose of BOTOX® Cosmetic using a tiny needle. The entire procedure takes only about 15 minutes.

While not common, some patients may experience mild side effects, such as discomfort at the injection site, or mild, temporary drooping of the eyelid or brow.

Dysport®

Dysport® is the latest alternative to BOTOX® injections and it is quickly taking the world of non-surgical cosmetic enhancement by storm. Recently approved by the FDA, Dysport® is designed to help patients reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the face. Developed by Ipsen and licensed by Medicis, Dysport® offers many of the same benefits as BOTOX® Cosmetic. Dysport® is derived from Clostridium botulinum and has already been used in Europe for several years. Like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport® temporarily prevents facial muscles from contracting, resulting in smoothed out lines and wrinkles and a more refreshed, youthful aesthetic. Dysport® is injected with a fine needle directly into the treatment areas, and has proven very effective at skin rejuvenation in the forehead and between the eyes. Typical procedures last 15 minutes or less, and the effects are often immediately apparent. There is generally no downtime associated with this procedure; however patients may experience some temporary redness, bruising, and/or swelling in the first few days after treatment. Results from Dysport® can last up to six months, and can be extended with follow-up treatment sessions once the effects show signs of fading. Learn more about Dysport® by contacting our practice. We offer a wide range of effective non-surgical cosmetic enhancement procedures that can reduce the signs of aging and give you a more youthful, relaxed appearance.
